Fast Forward: Women in Photography & Women Photographers International Archive US Tour: Miami

From 7 March - 13 March 2023 Anna Fox and I were invited by Aldeide Delgado from Women Photographers International Archive (WOPHA) to share the Fast Forward: Women in Photography Manifesto for Increased Involvement in Photography and the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion: Changes in Policy and Practice Report in Miami as part of a US Tour with the two sister organisations. We met with incredible local women photographers, visited the Frost Art Museum Archive, stayed at El Espacio 23 and the Betsy Hotel and presented on panels at the Rubell Museum and the Bunker Art Space. It was a wonderful experience to share our two documents with new audiences and get to know the local women photographers.

We visited the studios of Linet Sanchez who was an artist in residence at El Espacio 23. As well as AdrienneRose Gionta and Rose Marie Cromwell at the incredible Oolite Arts. In addition to Amalia Caputo, Lujan Candria, and Gabriela Garcio at the Bakehouse Art Complex. 

Our panel discussions were moderated by two incredible academics and curators Tiera Ndlovu and Heather Diak. During our time in Miami we also recorded interviews for the upcoming Fast Forward: Women in Photography podcast.
