In 2020 I collected data on the representation of women photographers in galleries, museums, photo book publications, education, and major public photography collections in the UK as part of my work for Fast Forward: Women in Photography. In 2022 Fast Forward hosted a workshop in London gathering women from all the major arts and photography institutions in the UK and internationally. Over the summer I had the pleasure of writing my very first report bringing together the data and findings from the workshop in the newly published Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: Changes in policy and practice report which you can now read over on the Fast Forward: Women in Photography website. Link in bio.
This report would not have been made possible without the immense guidance and support from Anna Fox and Maria Kapajeva as well as the research team at University for the Creative Arts particularly Amer Alwarea who all helped me write and edit this report. In addition to the contributions from Bindi Vora, Aldeide Delgado, Shoair Mavlian, Renee Musee, Natasha Caruana, and Kate McMillan. This report brings together years of hard work from Fast Forward: Women in Photography and countless women who have participated in Fast Forward workshops, conferences, and collaboration. In an effort to fight for gender equality in photography. Thank you Anna Fox for giving me this opportunity to write about such important work. And thank you to everyone who contributed to the discussions during the London workshop or helped with data collection. You can read the report HERE. I hope you enjoy reading the report Beautifully designed by mothership.
